Sure are! But instead of haters, I prefer to call us "realists."
As John Brown Jr said:
' Honestly though, there are just as many male personalities who would be lost without a guide or outfitter as females. I've worked with them for 18 years and often times been amazed at the total lack of outdoor skills they show."
I've gotten to know a few of the hunting "personalities" as well, and for some of them, their lack of knowledge about deer was shocking. For the life of me, I can't underatand why hunters idolize these people...

The original point of this post was to call out a bad job of editing and product placement being shoved down my throat even though said products weren't actually used during the hunt. I believe this was a breach of ethics and I wanted to make my disapproval known.
As far as the "professional" hunter discussion. In my opinion the only difference between most of the members of this forum and "pro" hunters is time. I have seen numerous "pros" that say they have been hunting for 50+ straight days before they finally shot their buck. Anyone on this forum could set in my treestand for 50+ days and eventually shoot a great buck, but most of us have to work and don't have that option. To their benefit I believe most "pro" hunters would agree with that statment.
They are either lucky or driven enough to put themselves in that situation, and I say good for them. If you can make a living by hunting then I'm truly jealous. But if you lie to your viewers, then IMO you lose all credibility and I have no desire to watch your show any longer.

...or have the money and marketing skills to promote themselves until people think they really are good hunters.

"Movie Star" good looks, don't hurt, either... When someone is beautiful/handsome, it doesn't take as much convincing that they know what they are doing, before sponsors will sign a contract with them, to get exposure on their show.

Take my word for it???? This field is no different than any other. There's always someone better, bigger, stronger, faster, who will do it cheaper. That's the great thing about America.
I'm not hating, I'm just giving you the opinions of someone who has been working full time in outdoor television for almost 20 years. I'll be more than happy to furnish you with a list of my credits and individuals I've worked with.
If I gave you the impression that I hate or dislike female hunters...... nothing could further from the truth. And to go a step beyond, I love all the attention that's drawn to the industry because of the ladies. I think it's a great thing.

I am just really sick of the nature of a few folks out here who continually knock hunting shows for whatever reason.
People do it to provide entertainment....very few do it to make a living ...... Waddel....lee and Tiff....that is about it. All others still work for a living or make calls, etc as a way of earning money.
Why can't u just see it as a way if entertaining and leave it at that.
Again....haters.....the way I see it.

So you are okay if the content of the show is a lie? If they insert products that weren't used? What if they inserted animals that weren't actually killed by them?
If they want to create a fictional show, then I am 100% okay with that platform. But don't try to pass it off as real.

That is EXACTLY my problem. Plus the inaccurate information they pass along as "fact."
In addition, intentional to the makers or not, hunters begin to believe these shows. They are producing what in my opinion is a harmful impression among hunters of what hunting is all about. And by "harmful" I mean harmful to the reputation and future of hunting, and harmful to the management of the resource itself.

deerlover,
Why does it upset you so much that some hunters/managers don't like hunting shows? I mean if it's just entertainment, who cares?
I don't like watching baseball on TV either. It's boring as heck. I wouldn't watch it even if you offered to pay me to watch it. I would rather watch paint dry. But who cares?
I don't watch professional basketball on TV either. I don't want to support the multi-million-dollar contracts of criminals and criminal wannabes. Who cares? It's no skin off anyone's nose.
